Terms of Service
01 What this is
This is the agreement between you and Lors Ltd. ("Lors," "we," "us") about using Webcam Works ("the app"). When you install or use the app, you're saying you've read this and you're okay with it. If you're not okay with it, please don't use the app — that's the deal we have to offer.
02 Your license
When you buy the Webcam Works one-time unlock, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your personal or business use, under the terms Apple imposes on Mac App Store purchases. The product is family-shareable: up to five members of your Apple Family group can use it on their own Macs through the same purchase. The app itself remains our property — you're licensing it, not buying the source code.
You can install it on every Mac signed in to your Apple Account, subject to Apple's normal rules. You can't sublicense it, sell it, or pass it along to your cousin's design agency.
03 Things you can't do
- Reverse-engineer, disassemble, or decompile the app, except where the law says you're allowed to.
- Remove copyright or attribution notices baked into the app or its assets.
- Use the app to do things that are illegal where you live (we shouldn't have to write this, but here we are).
- Resell access to the app or build a competing product on top of its license keys.
04 Updates
We ship updates. Most of them you'll like. Your one-time purchase covers every future update to Webcam Works; there is no "major version" upsell down the road.
We won't push updates that quietly add features you'd reasonably consider new products. If we ever want to charge for something, it will be a separate product, not a paywall dropped on top of one you already own.
05 Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. Request one from reportaproblem.apple.com and Apple will handle it under its standard policy. We don't take payment directly, so we can't issue a refund ourselves.
06 If something breaks
We do our best to ship working software. We test on a reasonable set of Macs and cameras. But software is software, and one day a macOS update is going to do something unexpected. If the app stops working for you, write to support@lors.ai and we'll try to fix it quickly.
We can't promise the app is fit for any specific purpose, or that it will be available without interruption. If you're using it in a context where camera failure would be catastrophic, please have a backup plan.
07 Our legal stance
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to the app is capped at what you paid us for it. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost meetings, missed streams, bad hair days that would have been better-lit. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they don't apply to you.
08 Ending the agreement
You can end this agreement any time by uninstalling the app. We can end it if you break these terms.
09 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally — for clarity, for new features, for legal reasons. If we make a meaningful change, we'll tell you in the app or by email and give you fair warning. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
